Shipping Insurance Policy

1. Purpose of Shipping Insurance

Shipping Insurance is an optional service offered by the platform to provide additional protection for international shipments coordinated through the platform.
Shipping Insurance is designed to offer customers enhanced resolution options in specific high risk shipping scenarios, including but not limited to:

  • Shipment loss in the origin country
  • Shipment loss during international transit
  • Shipment loss in the destination country
  • Customs seizure in the destination country
  • Theft or confirmed disappearance during postal handling

Shipping Insurance does not guarantee delivery, customs clearance, or acceptance by destination authorities.
It provides access to predefined service based remedies under this policy.

2. Optional Nature of Shipping Insurance

Shipping Insurance is strictly optional.
Customers may choose to add Shipping Insurance during checkout where available.
The availability, price and scope of Shipping Insurance are clearly presented to the customer before order submission.
By completing checkout without selecting Shipping Insurance, the customer acknowledges and accepts that the shipment will be treated as a non insured shipment under all applicable platform policies.

3. Availability Based on Destination Country

Shipping Insurance is not offered for all destination countries.
Due to regulatory requirements, operational limitations and risk management considerations, Shipping Insurance may not be available for certain destinations.

Where Shipping Insurance is not offered for a destination:

  • The customer cannot select Shipping Insurance during checkout, or the Shipping Insurance option will not be displayed
  • The shipment is automatically treated as a non-insured shipment
  • All rules applicable to non-insured shipments under the Return, Reshipment & Service Fee Adjustment Policy shall apply accordingly

The unavailability of Shipping Insurance does not imply that the platform assumes additional responsibility or is obligated to provide insurance coverage.

4. What Shipping Insurance Covers

Where Shipping Insurance is selected and available, the customer may benefit from additional resolution options in the following scenarios, subject to policy conditions.

4.1 Loss During Transit

If a shipment insured under Shipping Insurance is confirmed lost:

  • In the origin country
  • During international transit
  • In the destination country
  • Or does not reach the destination country within 30 days

The platform will coordinate one time free reshipment.
Free reshipment under Shipping Insurance is strictly limited to one occurrence only.
If the reshipment is also lost, no further reshipment, refund or service fee adjustment will be provided.

4.2 Customs Seizure

If a shipment insured under Shipping Insurance is seized by destination country customs, the customer may be offered one of the following options:

  • One time free reshipment
  • Partial service fee adjustment in accordance with the Return, Reshipment & Service Fee Adjustment Policy

If the free reshipment is also seized, no further remedies apply.
Customs decisions are outside platform control and Shipping Insurance does not override destination country import laws.

4.3 Theft or Confirmed Postal Loss

Where postal authorities confirm theft or permanent loss of an insured shipment, Shipping Insurance remedies apply as defined in this policy.
Official confirmation from the relevant postal authority may be required.

5. What Shipping Insurance Does Not Cover

Shipping Insurance does not cover:

  • Customs duties, excise taxes, VAT or import charges
  • Customs refusal based on local import regulations
  • Customer refusal to accept delivery
  • Incorrect or incomplete address details provided by the customer
  • Failure to receive or collect the shipment
  • Losses caused by force majeure events beyond postal control
  • Situations where shipping insurance was unavailable for the destination

Shipping Insurance does not alter the customer’s responsibility as importer of record.

6. Relationship to Platform Role

The platform operates as a digital coordination and facilitation service.

Shipping Insurance does not convert the platform into:

  • A product seller
  • A carrier
  • A customs broker
  • A logistics operator
  • A guarantor of delivery

All refunds, credits, adjustments or reshipments under Shipping Insurance represent service based remedies only, not refunds of product purchase prices.

7. One Time Remedy Limitation

All Shipping Insurance benefits are strictly limited to one time resolution per order.
Once a free reshipment or service fee adjustment has been applied under Shipping Insurance, no further claims, reshipments or adjustments will be available for the same order.

8. Customer Acknowledgement

By selecting Shipping Insurance at checkout, the customer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • Shipping Insurance is optional
  • Coverage is limited to the scenarios defined in this policy
  • Remedies are service based and limited
  • Customs decisions remain the customer’s responsibility
  • Reshipment benefits apply once only

Customers are strongly encouraged to review this Shipping Insurance Policy carefully before placing an order.

9. Policy Hierarchy and Cross Reference

This Shipping Insurance Policy must be read together with:

  • Terms & Conditions
  • Return, Reshipment & Service Fee Adjustment Policy

In case of inconsistency, the platform’s interpretation based on service scope, documentation and fulfilment partner confirmation shall prevail.

10. Final Provisions

The platform reserves the right to:

  • Limit or withdraw Shipping Insurance availability by destination
  • Update coverage scope and conditions
  • Refuse claims where documentation is insufficient or inconsistent

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of this policy.
